Flow Management Devices, LLC Awarded Provers for MODEC Libra FPSO Project
Flow Management Devices LLC (FMD), a global leader in meter proving technology, is pleased to announce FMD has been awarded the meter proving technology for the recently released Libra Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) project. Libra is a joint effort project between MODEC and Petrobras Brazil.
For the past year, FMD has been working closely with sales channel partner Metroval Brazil, Petrobras, and MODEC to design metering stations and prover systems for Libra. Per Metroval Brazil, “FMD Provers offer a near perfect FPSO solution by providing provers with a smaller footprint, reduced weight, greater accuracy, and ease of operation. This is a vast improvement to traditional prover technology.”
Libra is the fourteenth FPSO/FSO vessel which MODEC will provide in Brazil. The FPSO will be capable of processing one hundred and eighty thousand (180,000) barrels of crude oil per day, twelve million cubic meters of gas per day, two hundred and twenty-five thousand (225,000) barrels of water injection per day and will have the storage capacity of one million four hundred thousand (1,400,000) barrels of crude oil. The first oil production by the FPSO is planned for 2021.
“We are very proud to have our FMD technology be nominated as the measurement solution for Libra and are very thankful to our channel partners and the Libra Consortium for selecting Flow MD. We look forward to continuing our relationship with MODEC and Petrobras as the FPSO market continues to gain growth momentum” commented Steve Stewart/Vice President of Sales FMD Distribution and Service. “We are committed to working closely with our channel partners, clients, and Libra operations teams in Brazil to ensure FMD provers deliver the highest quality and best performance possible.”
